In this live, interactive class students will learn how to make a Korean rice dish called Kimbap.

Class experience

My hope as a teacher is that students of "kimbap making" would go away with tools and knowledge on how to make this dish again, and again. My desire is that the student will not just keep this experience for themselves, but go on to share it with others. I have experienced using this exact recipe to gather neighbors and friends together for a time of friendship making and refreshment.

Kimbap is a delicious and healthy side dish often found at our family potlucks and gatherings. I have experience teaching large groups of adults and children how to make this dish.
A complete ingredient list of supplies and ingredients will be available upon enrollment

Here are the ingredients and supplies you will need for class, some you may have to order online via Amazon or find at an Asian or international market.

***** CRUCIAL: Sushi Tool
Bamboo Sushi mat (Found in Asian markets, and I have also ordered these on Amazon) Please make sure you have this before enrolling in this class.

*****CRUCIAL: SPECIFIC TYPE OF RICE

*** Very helpful tool: Vegetable Peeler with a Julienne Function. I have found this to be an invaluable and useful tool when prepping carrots for Kimbap. This can be bought online or in some grocery stores.

Nori: Large dried sheets of seaweed
4 cups cooked short grain rice (2 cups dried = roughly 4 cups cooked)
1 bunch of raw spinach (roughly 4 cups)
1 large carrot
Pickled yellow radish: Danmuji or Daikon
garlic cloves
toasted sesame oil (please make sure you purchase "TOASTED" sesame oil, it should be the color of coffee, or dark black tea
Soy sauce
Salt
Pot
Tongs
Bowl
platter for sliced Kimbap

Parents be advised:
1) A sharp knife will be used to prep our vegetables and slice our Kimbap rice rolls
2) Hot water will be used to blanch our spinach and carrots

Allergy alert: Sesame oil will be used in the class recipe
