Class Experience

Welcome to "Let's Make Friendship Bracelets!" In this class, students will be taught the "cobra" stitch. The students will use this stitch to make their own friendship bracelet. I will also read a few short facts about the art of friendship bracelet making to the class as we make the bracelets. Throughout class, I will encourage the students to engage in conversations about what we learn, and get to know the students through conversation. This class will be taught by example. I will be making the bracelets with the students as they learn. The students will need to prior knowledge or experience to take this class. For this class, the students will need scissors and any thick craft lace or yarn. If your learner would like for their bracelet to look like the one pictured, I used plastic craft lace to create this bracelet. Plastic craft lace can be found at any craft store or Walmart. I suggest that the students use at least two colors when learning how to do this stitch, but they are welcome to use anywhere from 1-4 colors. Please keep in mind that all 2 of the strands of craft lace used to make the bracelet should be at least 48 inches long. The other two strands of craft lace should be 12 inches long. Thank you for your interest in my class! I hope to meet you soon! :)

*Please note that it is important for the material that the students use to be at least as thick as yarn. It is also very helpful if the material that they use is durable, and not soft.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Audra Knight, and welcome to my Outschool profile! I live in Alabama in the United States with my husband and cat, Moon. I have been an online ESL teacher for 2 years since graduating from college. I attended Mississippi State University and graduated with a degree in elementary education. I have always enjoyed working with learners and getting to know them. On Outschool, I plan to offer a variety of art classes. Art has always been a huge part of my life. While teaching, I have furnished multiple art commissions and murals for local businesses in my home state. I also plan to offer English, reading, game, and conversation based classes. I believe that all people can do anything that they set their mind to, and I translate this belief into my teaching style. I hope to show your students that they can do and be anything that they can imagine! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and learning new things! I hope to see you and your learner in my classroom!
