Description
Class Experience
This is a FLEX class, which means that all interaction is typed or prerecorded, some students may need assistance to access the class and participate in the activities. Activities will be posted on Sunday and are to be completed by Saturday so that other students have time to reply. This class is 8 weeks long which provides the students with the opportunity to really get to know one another and form friendships. Students are not able to share contact information with these friends...
I have over 10 years of experience teaching children and teens in various capacities, including as a teacher's aid, an assistant Montessori guide, a preschool teacher, a tutor, a caregiver, and a community support worker for autistic kids and teens. Working with children is my passion especially those who make have additional or unique needs. I am autistic but did not find that out until I was 19 so I often was not supportive socially in the way that I needed and I aim to make all of my classes the safe space I wish I had had as a student. I also have my associate's degree in special education.
Students will need to be able to post pictures and videos. For the coloring or drawing activities I do not provide coloring pages this is so that the students can choose their own, you may print them or use ones you have.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
