Class Experience

This is a FLEX class, which means that all interaction is typed or prerecorded, some students may need assistance to access the class and participate in the activities.

Activities will be posted on Sunday and are to be completed by Saturday so that other students have time to reply.

This class is 8 weeks long which provides the students with the opportunity to really get to know one another and form friendships. Students are not able to share contact information with these friends themselves for privacy reasons but parents and caregivers are welcome and encouraged to reach out to other parents and caregivers and make arrangements for your students to keep in touch with their new friends as they are comfortable.

All activities will consist of a video that I post of me explaining the activity or asking a question that students can answer as a written or video comment. Students will then reply to the comments of at least 1-4 students depending on how many students are in that section.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have over 10 years of experience teaching children and teens in various capacities, including as a teacher's aid, an assistant Montessori guide, a preschool teacher, a tutor, a caregiver, and a community support worker for autistic kids and teens. Working with children is my passion especially those who make have additional or unique needs. I am autistic but did not find that out until I was 19 so I often was not supportive socially in the way that I needed and I aim to make all of my classes the safe space I wish I had had as a student. I also have my associate's degree in special education.
