I have taught numerous wand classes on Outschool and also teach many other classes using a glue gun to design with.
0For this class the basics you will need are- A dowel, branch or wooden piece to use as the wand base. These can be any thickness or length. You can use multiple if you want to make more than one. A glue gun ( both low or high temp will work) Glue sticks ( 4-6 for mini sticks, 2-3 for full size) Just depends on how much detail you want to add. Paint - Acrylic works well. Any colors you'd like. You may also consider metallic, neon, glitter or glow paints. You can also use paint markers. A brush or 2 A jar of water to clean brushes Paper towels to wipe off paint brush Optional and additional materials you may want to use- Embellishment pieces such as marbles, rhinestones, glass pieces, beads, shells, faux flowers, plastic toys, 3-d printed objects, etc. Ribbon, yarn, pipe cleaners or anything you'd like to add to hang off. Scissors to cut ribbon, etc. Cardboard or wooden shapes such as stars, etc. Any other material you'd like to use for decorating A mug or jar to hold multiple wands as you are working
Students will be using a glue gun. Please make sure your child is comfortable with using one. If they need help using one, you are welcome to help them. Please try to stay off camera if you are helping your student. Thank you!
