Who doesn't love Cookies N Cream? Let's put that flavor into a cupcake that the whole family will enjoy! This is a hands on cooking class, so get ready to get baking! First, students will learn proper kitchen vocabulary and measuring techniques. Second, we will apply these newly learned skills and we will make Cookies N Cream cupcakes together. Third, while our cupcakes are baking we will make a Cookies N Cream Buttercream icing that students can use after the muffins are cooled. Finally, if we have time, we will discuss kitchen safety. The class is structured to be very step-by-step, extremely interactive and geared for hands on learners. No experience necessary however students may need help with using an electric mixer and operating an oven safely. Your chef will need access to the ingredients, equipment (measuring spoons, measuring cups, mixing bowls, knife), a muffin pan with paper or reusable muffin cups for easy cleanup, an electric mixer (stand or hand is fine) and an oven. *Please note, I live in Canada so we measure in cups and mL's. If you live in Europe or other places that measure by weight, please let me know ahead of time so I can have the weight measurements ready. **If you would like to run this class a private event, please message me and we can find a time that works for both myself and your group! :)
Learning Goals
Students will improve their measuring skills, will learn terminology used in baking and will enhance their baking techniques.
Students will bake cupcakes during class.
