In this one-time class, learners will learn some basic cooking skills as they make fudge that tastes exactly like fresh cookie dough.

Class experience

-Learners will become more confident measuring using teaspoons, tablespoons and various cup measurements.
-Learners will learn how to correctly melt chocolate in the microwave.
-Learners will learn how to cream butter and sugar and incorporate dry ingredients. 
-Learners will feel more comfortable using kitchen equipment and preparing food.

Please make sure your learner has the necessary ingredients and equipment to create this recipe at home. Substitutions often lead to recipes not succeeding and we want new chefs to experience success! Ingredients required: 1 cup mini chocolate chips 1/2 cup butter softened 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 tbsp milk 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour *see note 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup Ghirardelli white chocolate chips (or another high quality white chocolate chip) 1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk ** Please precook flour and allow to cool before class begins. Flour should be placed in a microwave safe bowl and cooked for 60 seconds, stirring at the 30 second point.. Kitchen equipment required: Apron (if desired) Microwave safe bowl Mixing bowls 8x8 pan Parchment paper Can opener Hand mixer or stand mixer (I will be using a hand mixer) Rubber scrapers

-Students should be comfortable using a can opener and microwave for this class. We will be using a can of sweetened condensed milk, please supervise your student as they remove the lid from the can. 
-This recipe includes raw flour. Please place 1 1/2 cups of flour in microwave safe bowl and heat for 75 seconds and allow to cool before class begins.
