Beginner - Advanced Level
In this class, young artists will be introduced to still life artwork. The still life is a classic way of creating art. The goal is to take a look at the still life provided, and draw or paint it in their own style. Then, at the end of class, students will be able to present what they've made if they'd like to. This one-time class is highly repeatable, as the still life will change with each section offered! This allows students to expand their art skills and their artistic vision. In addition to learning about still life art, we will also cover the elements of art through conversation. Learners will be presented with questions about all seven elements, allowing them to strengthen their knowledge of them and put it into practice. Art is all about creativity and finding a voice. As such, this class will focus on creativity rather than technique. Learners are encouraged to ask questions if they need to, of course. A still life "gameplan" will be discussed at the beginning of each lesson, and learners will be guided by the instructor when need be. For this class, students are allowed to bring whatever art supplies they'd like to.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Art is a lifelong passion, and my journey with art started in middle school. I have worked in many different media, but my favorites are sketching, drawing, and photography. I’ve been keeping sketchbooks for nearly 20 years, and they’ve helped me document my journey with art, as well as important milestones in my life. I want to help learners find their artistic passion and help them do the same.
