Give someone you care about a special handmade craft this Valentine's Day! This budget-friendly craft requires very little supplies (please see the supply list below for a complete list). The main supply is a plain piece of paper (or a prewritten letter!) of printing paper size that will fold and fold into a heart-shaped envelope. Add a note, a picture, a poem or anything that will fit in the envelope to make this gift extra special! Note: class is scheduled for forty-five minutes, but I may go a little over on time, if necessary, depending on class size and learners' ability. Thank you for understanding.

Note: COPY paper (8.5" x 11" letter size paper) is required for this craft, not origami/square paper. 3 - Sheets of copy paper/letter size paper; color of choice (to make the envelope) 1- Sheet of paper, color of choice (to make the heart on the front) Glue stick Pen to write message (optional) Only one sheet of copy paper/letter size paper is needed to make this craft, but more is recommended just in case your learner would like to start over or has time to make more.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
Thank you for stopping by. My students call me Teacher Vaughn. I have over fifteen years of experience working with children, starting with tutoring and working the after school program at a local elementary school while I attended college. After graduation, I became a preschool teacher and continued to work as a tutor at my daughter's elementary school for many years. My journey of working with children went online in 2017 when I became an English teacher to children in China. To date, I have taught over two thousand classes to over five thousand students, ages five to twelve.
My background of working with children has been on an academic level, but I'm looking forward to moving in a different direction with Outschool. Here, I would like to share my love of crafting, of Korean pop music (I have my teenage daughter to thank for this!) and of languages.
I find crafting to be so much fun and therapeutic. I discovered the joy of crafting fifteen years ago and have since made origamis of different items, JOY wreaths, floral wreaths, floral crowns, garlands, door bows, banners, seasonal things, baby shower gifts such as diaper cakes and sashes, backdrops for many different occasions as well as money leis for special occasions.
Fun facts about me:
* I taught my daughter to read in 100 days.
* I speak several languages and can understand a couple more.
* I find joy in planning special events because I find joy in seeing everyone gathered together.
* My daughter and I have had random dance parties since she was a toddler. Now, my teenager and I dance to K-pop music almost every single day.
* I was the social committee chair at my daughter's elementary school and had the best time. Although I no longer hold this position in middle school I am very much a part of the social committee. School dances will forever be my favorite school events to plan.
* I love to take pictures, but I'm an "auto mode" type of photographer -- and I'm okay with that. I take more than I need, delete less than I should and, with those images, have started quite a library of photo books for my family.
