In this "eruptingly"-fun, hands-on-learning class, learners engage in activities that will teach them fun volcano facts! These will be presented in a fun volcano fact game that will spark more interest and keep the class interesting. We will learn about various famous volcanoes around the world and some interesting stories about them. We will also diagram the anatomy of a volcano, and learn about the birth of a volcano by learning the difference between lava and magma. Students will watch a short video clip as well as participate in class discussion as we learn the facts. We will also build our own volcanoes by making our own play do from common kitchen ingredients and use the dough to build a volcano. Our class will culminate by making our volcanoes erupt with vinegar and baking soda!
Learning Goals
Students will gain knowlege about volcanoes, follow directions for making dough, and develop social skills as they learn along with others.
