This class is designed as an interactive story time. Students will learn the seven colors of the rainbow, and what causes a rainbow. Students will be be encouraged to hunt for objects around their house that match the colors of the rainbow we discuss. (this can be done ahead of time). The class will end with a small easy craft of making their own rainbow (Parents may need to assist).
Students will practice listening skills, learn counting to 7 by using the colors of the rainbow and how rainbows are formed. Each student will be asked to share their 7 items they found in the order of a rainbow.
Please note, this is a 30 minute class so if the student does not finish his or her craft by the end of class, it’s ok, they can finish after class.
For the craft, parents will need a paper plate, cotton balls, glue, and primary colors of tissue paper or construction paper.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
