In addition to using actual Dog Man book pages, I will create a brand new Dog Man Comic as a reference for the students using a Wacom Cintiq Drawing Tablet.

I will provide original page outlines, Dog Man Comic warmups, and examples available to download. I will display The Cat Kid Comix Club book from my Kindle as a reference and share additional proven storytelling methods.

I may send additional recorded lessons sharing my process with certain comic-creating aspects. I am free to communicate via classroom messages for questions, reference ideas, and resources.

This class is about drawing and illustrating our own unique stories based on the Dog Man universe. Students should be prepared to draw and write every class, but sharing their work is always optional. Students are responsible for coloring their comics, making edits, and finishing pages we do not complete during class. I will share a digital copy of my Dog Man comic created during the course, and whether the students create a 3-page or 12-page book in our six weeks, they can do the same with parent/guardian permission.

I'm excited to make Dog Man Comics with everyone can't wait to see the incredible stories we create!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Mr. Peden, and I make learning fun! In my experience, students learn best when they are engaged and invested in their education. Learning doesn't have to be bland. I design lessons around exciting stories and funny illustrations—engaging learners by teaching in a fun interactive way alongside characters and stories they enjoy.

Before teaching with Outschool, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Elementary Education. I taught as a classroom teacher for 9 years. During that time, I taught students with special needs and typical peers, ranging from K-5. I created and implemented over 140 Individual Education Plans during my tenure. Then, I obtained my Art and Physical Education K-12 certification and teaching students in grades 6-8 for a school year.

For the last 3 years, I have been teaching virtually for students of all ages and abilities, and I love it! I add to my lessons my artistic skills to develop individualized curriculums that excite and motivate students when I am not spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy drawing, writing, and practicing martial arts. I have self-published my own educational children's books.

I am ecstatic to create fun lessons for your students and plan to teach a variety of academic courses for all ages!
