Class Experience

As part of this one-time class we will review each letter name both upper and lower case with a movement activity and song. We will then play a game where each student will have the chance to participate and interact. As we review the letter names we will touch on the letter sounds but this is not the main focus of our class.

Letter recognition is a pre-readiness skill that helps learners associate printed text and spoken words. This course can be used as a review or for students who may not yet know all their letters.

These following preschool standards will be addressed in the course. ( Illinois Early Learning Standards)
4.B.ECa With teacher assistance, recite the alphabet.
4.B.ECb Recognize and name some upper/lowercase letters of the alphabet, especially those in own name.
4.B.ECc With teacher assistance, match some upper/lowercase letters of the alphabet.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the letter names for both upper and lower case letters. They will begin to learn some letter sounds.

Teacher expertise and credentials
A little about me, my name is Jennifer. You can all call me Teacher Jen. I am currently a full-time public school preschool teacher. I love working with children of all ages and teach English online to students in other countries. I have degrees in elementary education, early childhood education, and special education.
I love technology it is a passion of mine and I love learning new things and teaching others about all things Google!
My teaching philosophy is I believe all students can learn and they do so in their own ways. I enjoy finding new ways to help my students grow and learn. I believe outschool will be another way I can reach students.
I have three children who I love to spend time with and travel. I enjoy sewing and reading in my "free" time. I can't wait to meet you and your child on outschool.
