Students will complete a Lego Challenge assignment for homework. They will bring it to the next class (or a picture of it) to share at the beginning of class.Class Experience
Calling all Lego lovers! This winter camp is just you! In this one week winter camp, students will be given daily challenges to make a Lego creation. Each class will have a different challenge. Demonstrations and examples will be provided, along with guidance to support the students as they build their Lego creations. Students will have time during class to work on their challenges, while provided with feedback from the teacher and the other students in the class. From vehicles to towers to robots to animals to dream houses, students will get to build many different types of Lego creations! Games and friendly competitions will occur during this camp too! Students will have the opportunity to share their Lego creations at each class! Students will have a Lego Challenge homework that will be assigned at the end of each class. Bring your Legos and your creativity and let's have fun building together! *Disclaimer--students will not be building with any kits or a specific set. Instead, they will be completing challenges using different types of Legos and making their own builds.

Hello! My name is Amy and I have been a teacher for 20 years! I have taught early childhood and elementary grade levels, ESL students, college students, and adults through various institutions!
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I also have a Master of Science degree in Educational and Instructional Technology. In addition, I am certified to teach Reading in grades K-8 and all Middle School subjects. I have also obtained my TESOL endorsement.
My philosophy of teaching combines a few different educational theories. I am a strong believer of constructivist and brain-based learning and incorporate both into my instruction. I want to make learning interesting, engaging, fun, and challenging so that students are excited to learn and are more engaged in their learning. I incorporate differentiated instruction and multiple methods of instruction to meet the diverse needs of the students. I also strive to create a learning environment that supports social emotional learning and competency. I use a variety of technological sources in many of my classes, including PowerPoint, YouTube, and other digital resources. I love to incorporate technology, music, and a variety of other teaching methods to help reach all learners!
I reside in Arizona, USA with my husband, 4 children, 3 dogs, and 2 guinea pigs! Reading is my favorite hobby and I love animals. My favorite place in the world is the beach and I love to swim!
I teach reading classes, book clubs, science classes, and other fun learning classes. I offer a wide variety of classes on Outschool. I will work hard to make sure your child enjoys my classes!
