In this course, students will gain practice and build confidence in phonics, spelling, writing, and using sight words through a variety of games and hands-on activities. We will also learn about punctuation marks, parts of a sentence, and reading sentences together.

Class experience

US Grade Preschool - Pre-Kindergarten
Students will work on reading and writing 44 of the Dolch sight words. We will also work on sounding out words in a sentence, counting the number of words in a sentence, and discussing punctuation marks.
I am a licensed teacher with a Master's degree in Literacy.
-handouts each week will be sent to enrolled students to print and bring to class (let me know if there are problems with printing before class-I also show the handouts during class in case you can’t print before class)

**Each week, I will send the list of optional supplies/materials that would be used for our activities and games that week. Each class I show students an activity or game to play at home to practice words. If you don’t have the materials, you’re welcome to practice words any way you’d like. These materials are NOT necessary to attend class!

Here are some of the supplies that I show to use for optional practice at home:
-playdough (any color)
-toothpick or wooden skewer or pencil
-crayons/markers
-pencil
-plastic container with the bottom covered in salt or pepper or glitter
-Cheerio's, coins, or something to mark off bingo boards with (anything small that will fit on a Bingo board for the classes we play Bingo)
-paper
-scissors
-paper clip
-chalk (If you don't have chalk, it's fine! Students will be shown different ways to practice sight words.)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parent support may be needed for students with letter formation and some of the games.
