We will journey through the Spanish alphabet one letter at a time. Each class meeting will focus on one letter. Using the letter of the day, we will learn Spanish vocabulary words that begin with the letter of the day. Students will practice saying the words and have visuals and short stories that give them a context in which to learn the new words. I am bilingual (English/Spanish) and communicate daily in both languages. I have lived in Guatemala and have traveled to Mexico, El Salvador, Venezuela, and Peru. I taught for 7 years in a bilingual elementary classroom, and I currently teach high school Spanish. My teaching experience spans more than 20 years.
Students will be encouraged to practice the hello and goodbye song after class with family and friends. In addition, students will be encouraged to review and practice the new Spanish vocabulary.
Before each class, please print the handout(s) that I provide. You will find these in the classroom.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
