In this fun, interactive Science Flex Class, we will learn about a different amazing animal each week along with a related Science topic. Each week, learners will: โComplete an Animal Factfile about an animal including what it eats and which group the animal belongs. Learners may choose to write these facts on their file as well as draw them. โPlot where they live on both an interactive and printable map โAsk a question about the animal to another learner in the Classroom. โRespond to Quiz-type questions in the Classroom Week 1 - Pangolin and Hunting Week 2 - Koalas and Marsupials Week 3 - Geckos and Ectotherms Week 4 - Tree Kangaroos and Palm Oil Week 5 - Jellyfish and Bioluminescence Week 6 - Beavers and Dams Please note, this is a flex class and there will not be live meetings for this class. Each week includes tasks to cater to a variety of learning styles. Please do message me with any additional needs the students may have such as difficulties with Communication and interaction; Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN); difficulties with Cognition and learning; Social, emotional and mental health difficulties; Sensory and/or physical needs. I am happy to adapt the materials prepared for the course, so please do message me if I can be of assistance. Please also note, there may be reading and writing tasks in some tasks. Learners will be able to complete them to whatever ability they are at. I have listed this class for 5-9 year olds. It is planned for Key Stage 1 and Early Key Stage 2 which is ages 5-9 years in the U.K. Please do check the whole description when choosing this course for your learner. All materials are posted in the classroom by the end of Monday (UK time) each week. Learners are expected to interact in the classroom each week on the various posts in the required ways and complete the necessary tasks by Sunday each week. This is important as educational research shows that consistent interaction and feedback is necessary in order to create a quality learning experience. I want to ensure that students are given a rich learning experience, and not left to learn content on their own. Please do contact me with any questions. I look forward to being part of your learning journey!
