Does your child love hands on activities? Do they enjoy science, technology, engineering, art, math, or all of the above? In this ongoing camp, we will be doing fun, hands-on weekly challenges that use our creative thinking skills! S.T.E.A.M. is science, technology, engineering, art, and math. These are all such fun subjects and children can easily find themselves interested in them if they are engaged. With my weekly challenges, I work hard to plan in a way that all children, regardless of their learning style, are engaged, learning, and having fun while doing so! A supply list is provided the week before each class and the entire class will be doing the same challenge together, using the same materials, but the way it is done will be left up to the child. During class, I will share the challenge with the students, giving them simple instruction that leaves out details. Details take away one of the best parts of a STEAM challenge; creativity! This is where creative thinking skills come into play. Your child will get to think, plan, and construct their own masterpiece. I am always there to help each child with ideas if they need them, and offer any guidance and advice! I too will be doing these challenges along with them. Once we finish each challenge, we will share them in the class, with demonstrations will be done. After, we discuss what worked and what didn't. We problem solve any issues and try to come up with a fix as a class. Week of 3/6/2024 - How do fireworks work? Week of 10/6/2024 - How do electric guitars work?
