Class Experience

Do you love Science? In this Ongoing Class, learners will explore a range of Science subjects in a fun and interactive way. This course aims to provide meaningful learning experiences for young explorers.

Each class will include a range of teaching methods and activities that are designed to engage the learners in both a hands-on and minds-on way. Classes will include experiments, Q&A, quizzes, games, worksheets, videos and much more. Some classes will include breakout rooms.  Learners will be encouraged to observe, explore, question and share what they learn. A variety of methods are used to support learners and cater for different learning styles and needs.

Week of 1/4/24 - What is Astrophysics? - astrophysics as the study of the universe and its celestial objects
Week of 8/4/24 - What is Astrophysics? - basic astrophysical concepts, such as the electromagnetic spectrum, cosmic distances, and astronomical units
Week of 15/4/24 - What is Astrophysics? - Night sky observation: identifying constellations and observing celestial objects using binoculars or a telescope
Week of 22/4/24 - The Solar System - Sun, planets, moons, asteroids, and comets within our solar system
Week of 29/4/24 - The Solar System - planetary orbits, sizes, compositions, and characteristics
Week of 6/5/24 - The Solar System - Solar system model-making activity: creating a scale model of the solar system
Week of 13/5/24 - Stars and Stellar Evolution - stars, their life cycles, and evolution
Week of 20/5/24 - Stars and Stellar Evolution - stellar birth, nuclear fusion, and death processes
