This course is designed for beginning learners from ages three to four years of age who are at the beginning of their math journey! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is what we will do: - We will recite numbers (1-5) through the use of various images. - We will move on to create our own visual models of the numbers (1-5) using a basic math tool and student selected manipulatives (beans, counters, small toys, etc). - We will apply the skills used throughout class to our own environment using a mystery number. - We will conclude class sharing our mystery number findings. Materials: manipulatives (beans, counters, small toys) basic learning tool (provided) requires printing and a little snipping ✂️ prior to class ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ➡️ Please note: I have an intermediate (#'s 1-10) version of this course as well as expansion courses coming very soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is why we will do it: As an educator in the brick and mortar, virtual, and homeschool classrooms. I have always been fascinated with the process of learning and retention. I make a conscious effort to consider and gear instruction towards various learning styles and levels of skill. The implementation of Bloom's Taxonomy has always been key to taking my learners on a journey from lower level cognitive skills to higher more complex levels of thought and skill set. In this class we will begin at Blooms basic knowledge level, flow to the comprehension level, and end the course at the application level. With an ultimate goal of strengthening their current ability to understand, relate, and connect numbers (number sense) as they prepare for kindergarten and beyond! 🚀✨ “Math is important and it’s important to help young children develop their mathematical thinking. A child’s math knowledge at the start of kindergarten predicts later academic achievement better than early reading or attention skills.” Allison Master, PhD (Naeyc.org)

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Aleesha, but you can call me (Teacher Aleesha)! I'm fun, energetic, a bit-off-the wall, love children, learning, teaching and genuinely just want to make the world a better place.🌻
I graduated from Sam Houston State University with my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 2012. As for teaching experience: I taught in a small private preschool throughout college. After graduating I was a 4th grade math, science, and social studies teacher for 2 years and then moved on to teach 3rd grade math, science, and social studies for an additional 2 years... did I mention I love Math! 📚
After I had my twin boys 👦🏾👦🏾 (Liam and Zane), I left the traditional brick & mortar classroom and was blessed with the opportunity to work from home where I've taught virtually for the past 6+ years. I currently homeschool my boys who are 6 years old (1st graders) and through them I've discovered that I have a true passion for equipping the youngest of minds.
My love for teaching has grown over the years and I do my best to intentionally create fun and engaging learning experiences for both my boys and students.
I’m just one mom on a mission to make learning fun!
So what are you waiting for? 🤷🏽♀️...
Come learn with me! 🥳 🤓
