This one-time course is a great way for your student explore the basics of the piano and get a feel for piano lessons before committing to weekly lessons. By the end of the class, they’ll even be able to play their first song!

After you enroll, you will receive a message with attached PDF files. Please have these printed for your learner prior to the class. 

Students will also need a keyboard or piano with a bench or suitable chair. Please have the camera set up to show both the learner and the keys.

While this class is taught in a group format, each student will have the opportunity to ask questions and demonstrate their understanding of the information presented. My goal is for each student to come away from this class feeling confident in what they have learned, and excited to learn more about the piano.

Learning Goals

Students will learn be able to name the parts of the piano and describe how it works. Students will demonstrate the proper posture and hand shape and be able to identify finger numbers. Students will be able to play "Hot Cross Buns" on the piano.

-a pencil
-a printed copy of the attached documents received upon enrollment
