Let's Learn Math (Grade 4)

Math can be unnecessarily scary for many students. This class aims to end that.

Whether students need some extra help or are ready for enrichment, this is the class for them. This class is perfect for homeschooled students who want to connect with others or students who want to share their ideas. 

This class is set up to encourage students to join as often as needed, but not feel behind if they miss a week (or more). Every session will focus on a specific topic. 

Topics include (but are not limited to):
place Value
factoring
fractions
decimals
geometry
algebraic equations
operations
statistics

*Note: Topics will change each week. The topic for the week will be shared prior to the class. 

Each session will include a lesson with notes and examples for students. Students are encouraged to ask questions and share their solutions and strategies. Lessons include games, slides, and other engaging activities. We want to have fun while we learn.

Students will be provided with a practice page to continue their learning if they choose. *Practice pages are not required, but the extra experience is never bad. If desired, students can send me their work for feedback. 

Students will learn age appropriate math and problem solving skills as designated by Common Core and state standards.

Students will learn to organize their work and thinking to tackle multi-step problems with confidence using a variety of problem solving strategies.

Students will receive optional practice on a weekly basis. Families are welcome to send me their student's work for feedback.

Students will receive feedback on their progress through messages and conversations. Practice pages can also be reviewed. Formal grades are available upon request.
