In this ongoing class, learners will explore a range of geography subjects in a fun and interactive way. This class aims to use the learner's passion for video games to teach them real-life geography skills. Students are not required to own a Nintendo Switch. They should not bring a Nintendo Switch to class. In this class, learners will team up with Link to explore Hyrule and learn real-life geography skills. We cover map-reading, ordinal directions, landforms, erosion, bodies of water, different terrains, sustainability, resources, making connections and much more. All while engaging learners in education through play. Each class will include a range of teaching methods and activities that are designed to engage the learners in both a hands-on and minds-on way. Classes will include live game play, as well as Q&A, experiments, quizzes, games, worksheets, videos, and much more. Learners will be encouraged to explore, question and share what they learn. A variety of methods are used to support learners and cater for different learning styles and needs. What is taught in this course? Types of Environments Week beginning 18/3/24 - Tropical Beaches Week beginning 25/3/24 - Volcanic Environments Week beginning 1/4/24 - Tundras Week beginning 8/4/24 - Grasslands Week beginning 15/4/24 - Deserts Places Week beginning 22/4/24 - Villages and Towns Week beginning 29/4/24 - Cities Week beginning 6/5/24 - Shops and Markets Week beginning 13/5/24 - Castles and Architecture Week beginning 20/5/24 - Farms and Factories Please note, this course can be taken in addition to the Legend of Zelda Social Club. Although some themes may look similar, material, classes and learning objectives are different. The Legend of Zelda Social Club is a great opportunity for your learner to play the game and make friends. We look forward to being part of your learning journey!

Supply List
Learners will need paper, pen, pencil and crayons for each class. Some classes may require things to be cut out before the class and for learners to bring glue to class with them. Some classes involve a simple experiment. The required materials will be posted to the classroom. Please print out or download the relevant handouts in advance of each class. These will be uploaded to the 'Classroom' at 7pm PST on Sundays each week.
