In this ongoing grammar class, we will focus on a different aspect of English grammar each week. During each class, learners will familiarise themselves with the rules, and then begin to put it into practice through activities, worksheets, and games. Learners will use the grammar in both speaking and writing during each class. There will be a worksheet to accompany each class to help to reinforce the grammar. It will be helpful for learners to come to class with these printed out. What will we learn? Week of 20/1/25 - Need + -ing form, have/get something done Week of 27/1/25 - Indirect questions, indirect commands and requests Week of 3/2/25 - Ought to, should, phrasal verbs Week of 10/2/25 - Question tags, wish + past simple, plural nouns Week of 17/2/25 - The passive, simple forms Week of 24/2/25 - The passive, continuous and infinitive forms Week of 3/3/25 - Verbs with to + infinitive Week of 10/3/25 - Conditional sentences type 3 Week of 17/3/25 - Comparison of adverbs, wish + past perfect Week of 24/3/25 - Verbs with to + infinitive or -ing form Week of 31/3/25 - Future perfect simple and continuous Week of 7/4/25 - Tense review (past and present tenses) Week of 14/4/25 - Present simple or present continuous? Week of 21/4/25 - Past simple or past continuous? Week of 28/4/25 - Present perfect simple or present perfect continuous? Week of 5/5/25 - Present perfect simple or past simple? Week of 12/5/25 - Questions Week of 19/5/25 - -ing form, so/neither do I Week of 26/5/25 - Could, would for requests, uncountable nouns Week of 2/6/25 - Let, make, indirect speech Week of 9/6/25 - Past perfect simple, past perfect continuous Week of 16/6/25 - Verbs with two objects, time clauses Week of 23/06/25 - Indirect speech in the past, tell and say Week of 30/06/25 - Mustn't and don't have to, had better and would rather Week of 07/07/25 - Must, can't and could for deductions, so and such Week of 14/07/25 - both and neither, all and none Week of 21/07/25 - Conditional sentences type 2 Week of 28/07/25 - Relative clauses Further classes will be added.
