Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
My goal is for learners to continue to progress with their English language skills within the domains of speaking, listening, writing and reading skills through various types of activities.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and in the past 5 years have taught thousands of students English online through VIPKid and Cambly. I am TESOL and TEFL certified and I am noted for my patience, ability to elicit responses, engagement in the lesson and for my calm and encouraging classroom. I have maintained high ratings from parents through the years and I love to focus on pronunciation, phonics, and reading skills.
As per the family's request, short homework assignments/projects can be assigned.
Please bring lined and plain paper and something to write with to each class.
Based on various activities, including overall conversation and observation, I will assess and provide short feedback to families intermittently to let them know how their learner is doing and any challenges they face.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I often use games from Baamboozle and Wordwall, and screens will be shared in class- no outside access is needed. We may also use online books and Nearpod to enhance our lessons and add important concepts. We can customize this for your learner (or not use it), but they will need a second device and have their own account to log in if we do.
We may use Nearpod, Engoo, Baamboozle, Wordwall, Kahoot or ABCya for games, interaction, and content. Learners will have to create their own account for Nearpod or Kahoot and should have a second device ready to log into, if needed.
