Let's Learn English: Daily Journaling Series 4 with Teacher Helen B2 CEFR
What's included
Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 6
This is an English Writing flex class for students who love journaling, writing down their ideas and want to get daily writing practice and feedback. This class will not meet face-to-face. Each week will consist of 5x writing tasks to allow learners to improve their writing skills. Learners will work collaboratively to improve their writing skills and knowledge. One of the benefits of this flex class can be that learners can take as much time as they want to review materials and the recordings. With writing, I think this can be beneficial. The idea with the daily writing journal course, is to give learners the opportunity to be writing in English each day. A different scenario, question or task will be posed each day for learners to write about. Tasks will be open ended to allow for learners to complete it as they can. English Writing Journaling Course Week 1 - Ways of Sharing News Using reporting verbs Writing newspaper articles Writing about what happened in narrative tenses Week 2 - Writing Stories Describing Mythical Creatures Using adjectives to describe Using onomatopoeia Week 3 - Explaining Things Writing about scientific topics Using linking words to organise our ideas Practise forming questions and including them in your writing Week 4 - Giving instructions Writing instructions Organising our ideas logically Use linking words to guide and support Week 5 - Writing Poems Describing emotions using similes Use alliteration in our writing Using paragraphs accurately Week 6 - Writing Plays Use metaphors in our writing Using characters to develop stories Each week will include vocabulary, grammar and input on ideas. Five tasks will be set each week along with five 5-7 minute long videos. Learners will be provided with scaffolding for each of the tasks that they can follow. Each day will include input on suggested language learners may wish to use along with grammatical structures that will suit the topics. Learners are welcome to include doodles and drawings along with their journal entries. The idea is that learners will upload their work each day to the classroom and keep a journal in English during the course. The teacher will provide feedback via the classroom on uploaded work. Learners will be required to: โ๏ธShare ideas with other learners by completing 5x weekly journal tasks. โ๏ธ Post 5x paragraphs a week in the Classroom for instructor feedback. โ๏ธ Critique and comment on classmates' paragraphs. โ๏ธ Respond to discussion questions in the Classroom. The videos will be available for the length of the course. I do hope to add further daily journaling courses so learners can continue if they would like. Please donโt hesitate to contact me with further questions. This course is taught by Teacher Helen.
