Description
Class Experience
Students will learn about context clues and practice their context clues skills by identifying unfamiliar words within short paragraphs.
I was a 2nd grade teacher for 3 years and taught all subject areas, including math. My students LOVED Minecraft, so I enjoyed incorporating Minecraft into my classroom when I had the opportunity. I find that students learn best when the topic is of interest to them. I have tutored elementary, middle school, and high school students for over 10 years. In addition, I have taught summer school for the past 3 years and taught English online. I am certified to teach all content areas through 6th grade. I have my Special Education and ESL certifications through 12th grade.
We will use both Kahoot and Zoom during this lesson. Students can use both Zoom and Kahoot at the same time on a computer or laptop and have both screens open. Another option to have a separate device (cell phone, iPad) that is just for Kahoot (no app download is required).
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
In Minecraft, there is mention of swords, pickaxes, and zombies.
