Class experience
This Beginner Ballet class will introduce ballet fundamentals. The class will begin with traditional barre work, such as Plies, Tendu, Degage, Battement, Ronde de Jambe, Coupe, Passe, and more. Students will be allowed to interact with the instructor with questions. We will then learn proper stretching technique away from the barre and work up to splits and straddles. We then move on to center floor work involving body alignment, proper head positions, smaller traveling movements, adage and...
A chair is needed to be used as a Ballet Barre.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Please be sure your learner has an open space for moving, free of obstacles. Ballet shoes would be perfect but bare foot will work just fine. Comfortable/stretchy clothing that is not too baggy is recommended. Long hair should be pulled up. A water bottle is always great.
