Students will learn and practice second grade spelling words.
I have a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education and taught in primary (1st-3rd grade) classrooms for six years. I have an ESL endorsement and have more than five years of experience teaching online classes for kids.
No additional homework is required, but I will post optional supplementary activities for students to complete to extend their learning.
OPTIONAL MATERIALS - Paper and pencil - Weekly spelling sheet (posted on the Outschool classroom page 24 hours before class) - A folder or notebook to store weekly work
Students may take a weekly spelling test and/or play a Kahoot game to assess their learning.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
YouTube video links for the dictation sentences and spelling test videos are shared in Classroom Posts. Outschool embeds these links on its platform so that learners remain on the Outschool platform and don’t access the YouTube website. The teacher creates a Kahoot! spelling game and shares the link each week in Classroom Posts. An account is not required to use either of these resources and students do not need to use their real names when playing the Kahoot! game. Links are shared weekly to the Google Docs answer keys. Occasionally, the week's supplementary activities will include a quiz using Google Forms. Neither students nor families are required to sign-in or have a Google account to access these class resources.
