US Grade 3 - 6
In this one-time class, we are going to learn about the United States Constitution, including how and why such a document became necessary. During the class, we will review slides, use peer discussion, and have an in-class game... all to help learners understand more about the importance of the Constitution. In class we will cover... -What let up to the forming of the United States -What the Articles of Confederation are and why the document didn't work -Why a Constitution was needed and what older civilizations and documents helped frame the Constitution -The difference is between the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence -The Great Compromise and how it led to the Federal/State systems that we have today -What the 3 branches of government are and what they do -Who some of the signers were on the Constitution -Amendments -The Bill of Rights Class will be structured close to the following... -Quick introductions -slides/teaching time -game Learners will not need to have any prior knowledge of the Constitution, though if they do, this will be a great review or next step. After class, I will send printables to the classroom for more educational enrichment. Why take this class? I like to approach learning from multiple perspectives. I want learners to enjoy learning and feel comfortable with their ideas. Using reading, audio and visual aids, printables, discussion, and hands-on learning, allows learners to experience what they are learning, not just remember what was put in front of them. My goal is for learners to learn and have fun while doing it, in hopes that they simply fall in love with learning. Ages or grades of learners- This class is designed to allow for students of various ages to participate, however, I would say the average range is 8-12. I have had learners outside this range, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Parental Guidance
Should we use Kahoot, which is a game, learners will not need to have an account or browse online. I will give them a link to a private trivia style game that can be played by the class. I am a certified teacher on Kahoot. We don't use YouTube usually, however, should it be used... it will be via my screen share. Learners will not be directed to Youtube on their own or need an account.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been a teacher on Outschool since 2020 and I teach on 2 additional online platforms. I have a biology background, however, I studied US and World History for 3 years in college, as well as 2 years of Chinese. I have also trained in a non-credited format, for many years, with an author and speaker who specializes in teaching children character qualities.
I have always enjoyed teaching. My first teaching position was in Moscow, Russia, teaching English as a second language. Since then, I’ve taught in various settings which include a cooperative, a preschool, and as a tutor in the areas of math, science, and English. I also am a homeschool mom!
I have taught this class to different groups at a cooperative, for both lower and upper elementary students. I enjoy teaching a subject or principle and including different areas of study along with the original idea.
