In this 5-week class, learners will read and adapt principles from "Rich Dad Poor Dad for Teens" by Robert Kiyosaki. Each week we will converse about the book and how we are implementing good financial habits into our lives.

If the answer is yes, then this is the class for you! This class is meant to prepare you for post-graduation, but these skill can be implemented right away! 1. This course is designed to show teens how to take control of their finances at an early age! With the use of the bestseller "Rich Dad Poor Dad for Teens", we will cover topics including: Financial literacy Learning styles The meaning of work Types of income Business/work brainstorming Money management Students will improve their financial literacy by reading, journaling, and practicing principles each week. We will discuss areas of improvement and how they can improve their financial situations.
I worked in the financial industry for 5 years and I have been mastering my own finances with the help of multiple personal finance books. I am on track to be debt free by 30 (yay!). After working in banking, I realized that I was very limited in terms of the amount of help I could give people. While I could do basic transactions for my clients, the company I worked for did not allow me to give basic financial advance to my customers such as budgeting and saving. I believe it is important to have strong financial literacy, whether you want to go to college or not! With this class, I can help your teen to make strong and healthy financial decisions, and I can give them insight that they will have for years to come!
Students must have their own copy of the book, "Rich Dad Poor Dad for Teens" (2004) by Robert Kiyosaki. This can be found at local libraries, second hand stores, or on Amazon for around $15 USD.
