In this fun and engaging class students will learn the definition of onomatopoeia and how to use it. Students will listen to a story with Onomatopoeia in it then students will pick an onomatopoeia word and create some word art based on the sound it makes. Students will practice using onomatopoeia in sentences and students will be challenged to create their own onomatopoeia words to illustrate. This class will be taught in a fun, warm and engaging group discussion setting. Students will have lots of fun as they interact and learn with their classmates.

Students should have paper and pencil for class as well as colored pencils (optional) to do a little fun artwork in class.

Hello! I’m Teacher Sheila.
I’ve been teaching both children and adults for over 20 years.
I have a Bachelors Degree in education, I’m TESOL certified and I’m homeschool certified as well.
I am currently teaching English online to children in China. I also offer classes in Common Core subjects Online in the US as well.
I have home schooled all five of my children, 4 have graduated 12th grade and I’m currently working with my last kid who will be starting High School this year.
I am so very passionate about teaching that I even spend much of my free time in volunteer work teaching others. My goal is to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning.
In fact I believe in learning so much that I am always involved continuing education myself, whether it be in foreign language, improving my teaching techniques and even weekly public speaking classes.
I believe I have a LOT to bring to the classroom and I’m EXCITED to begin on this journey in learning with you! I hope to see YOU in my classroom soon!
