In this fun interactive lesson students will learn all about similes. They will learn the concept and definition and how to use them as well as gain a confidence boost by complete the activities in class. Students will hear a song about similes to help them learn the definition. They will practice what they learned by using their imagination and creativity to write interesting and fun sentences using similes. Students will have ample opportunity to interact with their classmates as they learn together in this fun group discussion setting.
Learning Goals
Students will understand the concept of a simile and be able to create their own similes.

Hello! I’m Teacher Sheila.
I’ve been teaching both children and adults for over 20 years.
I have a Bachelors Degree in education, I’m TESOL certified and I’m homeschool certified as well.
I am currently teaching English online to children in China. I also offer classes in Common Core subjects Online in the US as well.
I have home schooled all five of my children, 4 have graduated 12th grade and I’m currently working with my last kid who will be starting High School this year.
I am so very passionate about teaching that I even spend much of my free time in volunteer work teaching others. My goal is to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning.
In fact I believe in learning so much that I am always involved continuing education myself, whether it be in foreign language, improving my teaching techniques and even weekly public speaking classes.
