This is a Flex Class. Flex classes have no live class meetings. In this 8 week class students will learn about 8 different types of animals and will also get to meet my animals. I personally own every type of animal that we will discuss in class, so they will meet that animal on the corresponding week. Class will be taught using written information, photos and videos. Students will interact with each other by answering various questions, and sharing their art projects with each other. They will also work together as needed to complete their worksheets. Lessons will be posted everyday throughout the week, with the worksheet being posted on Fridays. The art projects will vary as to what day it will be posted, as it will be posted on the day it best fits with the lesson topic. Week 1: We will learn about African Clawed frogs. We will learn about their native habitat, a little bit about their care in captivity and also some cool facts about them. Students will also receive a worksheet (wordscramble, wordsearch or crossword) at the end of the week to help remember some of the things they learn. During this week students will do a frog related art project. Week 2: We will learn about Axolotls. We will learn about their native habitat, their life cycle, their morphs and some cool facts about them. Students will receive a worksheet at the end of the week. During this week students will do an axolotl related art project. Week 3: We will learn about the different types of box turtles and their native habitat. At the end of the week students will receive a worksheet. During this week students will do a craft related to turtles. For this weeks craft students will need paint. Acrylic works the best but others can be used. Week 4: We will learn about Crested Geckos, their native habitat, a little bit about their care in captivity and also some cool facts about them. At the end of the week students will receive a worksheet. Students will do a Gecko related art project during this week. We will be using pony beads for our craft this week. Week 5: We will learn about Sulcata tortoises, their native habitat and a little bit about their care in captivity. At the end of the week students will receive a worksheet. Students will do a Tortoise related craft. Week 6: We will learn about Veiled Chameleons, their native habitat, a little bit about their care in captivity and some cool facts about them. At the end of the week students will receive a worksheet. Students will do a chameleon related art project. For this weeks craft students will need pipe cleaners. Week 7: We will learn about fire bellied toads, their native habitat, a little bit about their care in captivity and some cool facts about them. Students will receive a work sheet and will do a frog related craft. We will be using pony beads for our craft this week. Week 8: We will learn about leopard geckos, their native habitat, a little bit about their care in captivity and some cool facts about them. Students will receive a worksheet and will do a different gecko related craft. We will also talk about some of my animals rescue stories. This can be a little sad but does have a happy ending. One example of a rescue story that they may hear in class, is about an animal being abandoned when someone moved. But the happy ending is that she's doing great now and is living a happy healthy life with us!
