What's included

In this class, the learner will participate in a book discussion, learning facts about a specific animal and its home. I will read a non-fiction book about an animal and encourage participation by asking comprehension questions about the animal. The Monday class will learn about a Fox, Wednesday’s class will learn about a Rabbit, and Friday’s class will learn about a Bee. After the book discussion, we will do an art activity- a directed drawing of that animal and if capable the learner will write a sentence fact to go with the drawing. We will wrap up the session with a fun song about the animal.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a certified early childhood teacher who loves to teach young children and see the excitement in their eyes when they are learning something new or just enjoying a topic or activity they are familiar with. I believe music helps my students remember the lesson by giving them a fun connection to the topic. I like to add literature to my lessons as well as an art activity to tie it all together and give my students something to take away and remember the lesson as well as something to be proud of and build their self-esteem.
