Welcome to my classroom! This class will be great for students getting ready for kindergarten or students who need a little more practice before first grade. This fall class will meet for 2 weeks four times Monday-Thursday to work on our growing skills Each meeting will follow a flow of both math and English language art practices. Every day will focus on a new letter and will review previously learned letters. Listed below is the flow of the class by topics Week 1 Letter sounds m, c, g, n, a, h, s, e Week 2 Letter sounds d, z, p, i Math topics covered will include these topics every time: Counting to 100 by ones and tens, two-dimensional shapes, colors, patterns, days of the week, months of the year and a number of the day that matches the date. Students will also have the opportunity to share and learn about feelings and answer a question of the day.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to sit and listen as they grow their knowledge of letter sounds, counting, shapes, patterns, and calendar time.

Hello! I am Ms. Ashby and I teach kindergarten reading and writing skills here on outschool as well as in a brick and mortar classroom during the school year.
I have a very diverse teaching background. Since graduating with my Bachelors in Elementary Educationand minor in reading education I have taught 2nd grade, pre-school, 4th grade, and Kindergarten as the primary teacher. I have also had long term substitute positions in 1st and 2nd grade. I have a passion for hands on learning and whole brain teaching. My goal as a teacher is to help students reach their goals, personal and academic, by fostering a love of learning and giving them a space to be curious and learn through experiences.
A little something about me: my list of hobbies is ever growing as I love learning new things and consider myself to be crafty. I am currently into wood working and embroidery. I live at the beach with my Dogs Marlin and Mabel and in our free time in the spring and summer months we enjoy going out on the water fishing or enjoying the company of others.Reviews
