Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
If your child loves dinosaurs, they will enjoy this camp! It goes beyond the average learning of dinosaur facts and throws in interaction, fun, problem solving, creative thinking, teamwork, and so much more!

In this camp, students will bring two dinosaurs to class. At the beginning of class, each student will have a chance to make their dinosaurs battle, while the other students guess who will win. This is a fun way to break the ice and allow the students to be interactive and have fun playing with their dinosaurs.

After all students have had the chance to do a battle, we will then look at two dinosaurs at a time (T-Rex VS. Spinosaurus for example) via slide shows. Each student will have the opportunity to guess which dinosaur they believe would have won in a battle. This guess will be followed up with the question "why?" to foster problem solving and creative thinking. We will discuss different aspects of the dinosaurs and their battles, with the teacher offering many opportunities for learning. We will discuss questions such as "Will the biggest dinosaur always win?" and "How can a dinosaur with no protection win?" As if all of this isn't fun enough, your child will get to learn some new dinosaur facts along the way, and some new dinosaurs all together!

This class is learner led, meaning the students get to choose the dinosaurs we discuss each week. Due to this, we do not have a weekly breakdown of each week, but your child will never need more than their two dinosaurs - you will be well prepared for every class with that! At the end of each class, I ask the students for dinosaurs they would like to discuss in future classes.

We teach many science classes, as well as camps on different subjects, so feel free to check out our schedule if this sounds like something your child would enjoy! I love to think and teach outside the box and I always give many opportunities for talking and discussion.

We look forward to being part of your learning journey!
