During this one-time course, students will learn how to make fun-fetti cake balls using ingredients you can get at the grocery store. First, students will need to have made a fun-fetti cake (or other flavor if you don't want fun-fetti, this recipe will work with any flavor of cake) using boxed cake mix. We will start class using the already baked and cooled cake and turning it into cake balls using a jar of buttercream frosting and our hands! This is a very hands-on class in which students...
A baked and cooled cake (use fun-fetti box mixes or other flavor if you prefer) - do not frost the cake One can of frosting (buttercream or vanilla) Package of white melting chocolates or almond bark (10-12 oz) A large bowl to mix in A large spoon to stir A microwave safe bowl to use for melting A baking sheet Wax paper or parchment paper Slotted spoon (optional) Sprinkles (optional)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be required to use the microwave to melt the chocolates. Please offer assistance and heating pads, if needed.
