Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am a work-from-home, homeschooling mom to my 10-year-old daughter, Harlie. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 chickens! I love to read, cook, and do crafts! I also LOVE to teach! I believe that learning should be fun so I am always looking for ways to incorporate fun into learning using play-based learning strategies.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I have over 20 years experience working with children. I taught second grade before welcoming my daughter into the world and beginning my role as a stay-at-home mom. I have enjoyed homeschooling her since preschool as well as teaching homeschool co-ops and other groups. I taught preschool aged children in the day care setting and have taught at church for over 12 years. For the past three and a half years I have taught English online to children in Asia ranging from preschool to age 13. I love to teach the alphabet, colors, phonics and reading comprehension. I also enjoy history, science, and social studies. Due to dietary restrictions in my household, I enjoy trying new recipes and am excited to teach eager learners these delicious foods!
I can’t wait to see your learner in my classroom!
TIPS FOR CLASS/MUTING:
I strive to encourage all learners to participate in class and typically will leave them unmuted. If you feel the learner needs to be muted due to background noise, I understand. Feel free to mute as needed.
If background noise is distracting to other learners, I will mute as needed.
Class rules to be discussed with learners at the beginning of class:
1. Listen
2. Look
3. Raise your hand and wait for your name to be called
