2 live meetings
2 in-class hoursClass Experience
This class will be taught in two lessons where students will take a virtual safari tour with me to visit the exotic land of Africa. Students will learn about some of the animals that live there, their natural habitats, what they eat, and how they live. Topics to be learned will include names and fun facts about the animals, the ecosystem of Africa. facts about the continent, and the people that live there. Our adventure will include fun videos, games, lively conversation, and other interactive activities. There will also be a question and answer game to see what everyone remembered learning, and students will take turns to participate in sharing their thoughts and ideas. Students will interact with myself and other learners at various times throughout the lesson with question and answer sessions, multiple choice questions, and other activities designed to encourage learning and participation. Part 1 will primarily focus on the animals that live in Africa, while part 2 will introduce the ecosystem of the area, facts about the continent, and the culture of the people that live there. Both parts will include videos to watch, games to play, and interactive activities designed to encourage lively and interesting conversations among the students and myself. I like to create a learning atmosphere that is fun, lively, and motivates students to learn and get immersed in the material.
Learning Goals
Students will be helped to improve their understanding of Africa, and the animals that live there in a fun environment that immerses them in the Savanna. They will be taught new vocabulary words, watch fun videos about animals, and do activities to help them review new information learned. Part 1 primarily focuses on introducing the student to the animals and their habitats, while Part 2 teaches about the ecosystem, facts about the continent, and the peoples that live there. Upon completion, students will have a good understanding of the African continent and what it is like to go on safari there.
