Class Experience

Tentative Schedule for Pokémon Science

Class 1. 3/3/2022 Water and Ice types.
We will explore water and ice type Pokémon and their characteristics. We will dive into the properties of water in our project section.

Class 2. 3/10/2022 Fire types.
Flaming hot Pokémon like Charizard and Scorbunny will be in the spotlight as we discover the characteristics of fire and question the properties of gases and plasma.

Class 3. 3/17/2021 Grass, Poison and Bug types.
Welcome to the jungle as we explore grass types and the variety of green Pokémon. The science of plants will be the main scientific focus.

Class 4. 3/24/2022 Electric types.
The electrifying Pokémon in this class will shock us with their connections to our everyday life energy, motion, electricity and magnetism science.

Class 5. 3/31/2022 Flying types.
We will explore Pokémon that have the ability of flying and compare them to the creatures that fly in our world. Also, we will look over the physics of flying, and the laws of motion.

Class 6. 4/7/2022 Ground, Rock and Steel types.
Let’s rock and roll with these types of tough Pokémon. We will rock you with facts about geology and discover the properties of rocks and metal. Perhaps a diamond, or a pearl.

Class 7. 4/14/2022 Psychic, Dark and Ghost types.
By exploring these sometimes spooky types we will learn about the science behind our brain, our mind, our senses and the fabric of our reality. Maybe we can learn some brain puzzles and mind tricks.

Class 8. 4/21/2022 Dragon and Fairy types.
We will compare the evolution of real animals to the fairy tales, fables and legends that are these mythical creature types. During our science session we will discover the properties of light and the color spectrum .

Class 9. 4/28/2022 Normal and Fighting types.
The exploration of these Pokémon will allow us to discover the anatomy of different creatures including humans. Scientifically speaking, we can talk about diet, nutrition and health. We need this knowledge in order to have a fighting chance.

Class 10. 5/5/2022 The Pokémon World Pt. 1
In this class we will use the science of cartography and mapping, as well as a bit of Earth Science to explore the locations and natural phenomena in the Pokémon world. Then we can compare it to ours. Let’s go!

Class 11. 5/12/2021 The Pokémon World Pt. 2
In the second part we will talk about the technology that makes the Pokémon universe so cool and compare it to the technology we have in our reality. Professor Oak would be proud.

Class 12. 5/19/2021 Pokémon Fiesta
We will be able to present our own Pokémon creations, toys, cards, games and more. It’s a show and tell of gigantimax proportions! We can talk, in order, about our favorite things in this fantastic universe, science and Pokémon.
