Class Experience

Come join my one week stop motion animation camp and learn everything from the basics of stop motion animation such as camera settings, lighting, set construction to advanced techniques like running animation, making your characters throw objects and implementing a green screen background. This class will span over five days where we will meet once a day for an hour. Each class will be structured so that we begin with demonstration and instruction, followed by an implementation period where...

>  How to apply the 3-point lighting technique
>  How to manipulate camera settings to fit the scene
>  Important steps to ensure consistency in filming
>  How to pick and set your frame rate
>  How to use and navigate the mobile device app Stop Motion Studio Pro
>  How to do post production editing such as applying the drawing tool, adding text, sound effects and making your characters talk!
>  How to make your characters move more naturally
>  How to incorporate a green screen background so you can take your scene anywhere from Hogwarts Castle to the Deathstar
>  How to create a walk cycle and running cycle
>  How to use the the masking tool to make your characters fly, throw things, and jump over obstacles 
>  How to export your video so that it can be posted on social media or even just send it out to friends and family

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Stop Motion Studio Pro App

Smart Phone or Tablet
Device Stabilizeer
Green Screen (or blue)
Popsicle sticks

5 hours per week in class, and no time outside of class.

Students who have a difficult time following instructions may benefit from having a parent nearby to assist.
