Go back to the previous page and click "Meet Once" to enroll No matter what your level of playing is, this class will be individualized for your level. Let me know what kind of music you like, and what you want to learn. I welcome learners of all identities and backgrounds into my classes. This is a one time class that you can take as many times as you like. If you take the class again, we will continue where we left off in the last class. You can also enroll in the 30 minute lesson classes. If you are looking for a recurring, weekly time slot, I can check and see if there are any open spots that could work for you. We will learn a song or two, at the student's level. If the learner has some guitar background, then I will work with them at their level. This is a casual and relaxed environment, that encourages learning and builds self esteem. My teaching style is relaxed and fun. This is a hands on class, so the student will play and practice what we are learning. I will post song sheets and other notes, in the Outschool classroom, after the class has finished. Some of the things we may work on are chords, chord songs, cool rock riffs, rhythms and strumming. I have been a guitarist for over 20 years, so I have a vast bank of songs and styles of music. I can teach rock, blues, folk, pop and most any other style that you love. If you have any particular questions about this class, please message me through the Outschool messages. For total beginners - We will talk about tuning the guitar and the different methods for tuning, including the GuitarTuna app or online tuner. We will talk about the string numbers, and practice playing the different strings. We will learn about the frets and how the dots on the guitar can be helpful to find which fret you want. The student can let me know what kinds of music , bands, and styles they want to learn. Depending on the age and level of the student, we will practice playing some beginner chords and strumming a rhythm pattern. My teaching style is relaxed and fun, with a focus on adapting the lesson for the individual learner.

I will send you a link for the GuitarTuna online guitar tuner. This is the tuner that I recommend. It is also available as a free app for your phone. There is no account needed for this tuner.
I will sometimes play a song for the student, using youtube on the zoom screen share. This will be to let them hear how the song goes, so they can more easily learn the song.
