Let's Get Ready for Third Grade! Summer Review & Prep Camp 🥳 In this 12-week, twice-a-week class, we will review all second-grade math, grammar, and writing skills in a fun summer camp atmosphere. We will keep our writing skills fresh with a sentence writing game each class time. CLASS STRUCTURE: ⏰ Classes will be run more like a summer camp than a classroom. ⏰ We will start each class with a grammar review game and a math review game. ⏰ Second-grade skills will be reviewed repeatedly throughout the course, not just once. 🎯 Class Expectations: Students should be kind and courteous to one another. Students should be supportive and encouraging. Fun, laughter, and energy are always wanted and encouraged, but they should remain focused on our class content. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 📚 Second Grade Skills covered during the spiraling review each class: 💥 Grammar: nouns (including singular, plural, and proper), verbs (including action, helping, agreement, and tenses), adjectives, capitalization, and punctuation of sentences. 💥 Math: place value to 1,000, add and subtract up to three digits, time to quarter-hour, measurement to cm and in, bar graphs, picture graphs, line plots, basic 2D and 3D shapes, fractions from 1 whole to 1/4 quarter. 💥 Sentence writing: types of sentences, subject and predicate included, adding details, capital to start, ending punctuation, avoiding run-ons or fragments. Additional skills such as antonym and synonym will also be covered! See the Syllabus for more details. Prerequisites: ✅ Students should have completed second-grade coursework. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OUR CLASSROOMS AND TEACHING APPROACH: 🔅 Our goal is to make learning as happy 🥳 and stress-free as possible! 🔅 Our classrooms are fast-paced and interactive. 🔅 It is a kind, caring, supportive, productive, silly, and just a little bit crazy kind of space! 🔅 We want students to love class and enjoy showing up to learn. 🔅 Students can only learn when they feel comfortable and safe! 🔅 We provide that environment for our students, then watch as their learning soars! 🔅 We will meet each student where he or she is and move them forward. Optional packets for independent practice will be posted in the classroom weekly.

Students will have a solid review and understanding of second grade skills in grammar, math and sentence writing.
