Class Experience
Executive Functioning refers to self-regulation skills that enable us to plan, focus, recall instructions, and handle multiple tasks successfully. These skills can be very difficult for students (and adults!) to learn and in some cases need to be explicitly taught. In these 45-minute one-on-one sessions, students will work with a certified teacher on strategies to help them get organized and feel successful and accomplished both inside and outside of the school setting. The session topics may include, but are not limited to: - Focusing on a single task - Planning/Prioritization - Organization - Time Management - Goal Setting - Coping with stress ***Please send me a private message with brief information about your child and their needs ahead of time so that we can make the most of our time together and I can prepare the lesson to be more individualized.***

Hello learners!
My name is Danielle Nesgoda. I am a certified teacher who has been in the classroom since 2017. I am a Special Education Teacher at the elementary school I teach at, which has offered me unique experiences in modifying and adapting state standards so that all types of learners are successful. The population that I teach are students who are still expected to excel within the general education curriculum and are expected to pass standardized tests.
In addition to teaching full-time, I have also served as a private and small group tutor after school. In my years of teaching and tutoring, I have taught students in Kindergarten through 12th grade in Math and Reading. I have experience with all learners including ESL, advanced academic, and students with special needs. My colorful teaching background has provided me with a strong foundation for helping to reach struggling learners.
My classes offer a safe space for learners to try new things and take risks. My philosophy stems from the understanding that math can be found in any part of our daily lives and it's important that we utilize each individual's prior knowledge in order to build connections and develop a more meaningful understanding of math. I enjoy integrating online applications such as Nearpod and Kahoot to encourage interaction and active participation.
I look forward to working with you!
Mrs. Nesgoda
