Students will learn how to practice good warm-up techniques so they can avoid injury. Then students will learn how to stretch properly to increase their flexibility over time and also avoid possible injury. In class we will get our blood pumping by warming up every muscle in our bodies. We will then carefully stretch the muscles we warmed up so students can improve their flexibility specifically for dancing but can apply to other areas as well. I will teach by example, students will follow along as I show them how to warm up and stretch together. Students will be able to ask questions throughout the class and I will also provide feedback on their performance of the things taught. My teaching style is flexible, some things we will do all together and other things at each students own pace. As far as student interaction goes, we will take turns showing off our tricks and flexibility for the rest of the class. This class does not require any prior dance experience or knowledge. Come ready to have some fun and get your body moving!

Parental Guidance
Stretching and conditioning are physical activities that come the possibility of injury. Make sure you have a clear space to avoid tripping on anything and wear comfortable clothing to move around in. It may also be nice to have a water bottle handy.

I have been dancing for just over 20 years and I absolutely love it! I am always learning new things about dance in an effort to become a better teacher and bring that knowledge to my dancers. My experience dancing has been so helpful in creating who I am today. It has also given me confidence, helped me stay active, creative and make new friends! I have come to learn the importance flexibility plays in other activities such as cheer, gymnastics, ice skating etc. and my experience will help with these athletes as well! I hope to use my expertise to bring young learners the same joy it continues to bring me!
