I am a life-long crafter, maker, and designer with a passion for inspiring creativity in others and have taught numerous art and design workshops focused on enabling the creative process, building confidence, and encouraging independent thinking and social interaction. I draw from my background in education, costume/fashion design, art, and psychology to create fun, interactive, and valuable multi-layered learning experiences.
Learners are encouraged to bring any type of creative project that they want to work on in class. There are no requirements for assigned homework outside of class, but many choose to do so.
Learners should bring whatever materials they need to work on their projects. If they are not sure what materials they might need for the next stage of their project, they can get advice in class or send me a message and I can offer advice.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be no formal grades given for this course. Learners will receive feedback, tips, and techniques to improve their skills.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
It is not my intention to censor anyone's creative expression, but learners are expected to work on and discuss only age-appropriate projects. If any issues arise around the appropriateness of a particular project, a determination will be made between the learner, their parent(s), and myself as to how to proceed.
No other sources required, but learners are encouraged to bring reference materials for creative inspiration.
