Class Experience

This class is for our youngest chefs! It serves as a nice introduction to world cuisines and cooking skills. We will be using knives, toasters/ toaster overs, and blenders, so parental help/ supervision is a must.

Class begins by discussing knife skills and basic kitchen safety. We will then look at a presentation about Spain and Spanish foods, including their history and how they got to Spain (and us). The students will then be instructed in the preparation of their own small tapas, which do not involve any cooking.

Students will also receive a number of additional recipe variations to continue their skills and culinary exploration following the class.

¡Buen Provecho!

Parental Guidance
I think parents should be either very close by or completely involved in this one...depending on the age of the child. They will need to use a bread knife and the blender, so it is best to err on the side of caution. ¿verdad?

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I love Spain! I have been there three times and am always looking for ways to go back. The people are amazingly friendly. The food is exquisite. There is nothing that beats sitting at the shores of the "wine dark sea" as Homer so poetically put it, and eating your way through their culinary history.
