Let's Get Cooking: Baked Donuts
Class experience
In this class students will learn how to make a delicious baked donut. Using simple at home ingredients I will teach the students step by step how to mix their ingredients, use a donut baking pan and donut maker and finish with a simple glaze to cover our donuts. I will share with students the mixing, pouring and baking of our donuts and how to apply glaze so that we get more on our donuts than ourselves. No experience is needed for making donuts, but parental guidance is suggested for hot...
Students will be able to bake their own donuts with a yummy, simple recipe.
I grew up with parents who LOVE to cook and my mother has been a home economics teacher for nearly 40 years. She has fostered a love for cooking that I enjoy sharing with students.
Students will need: Access to an oven OR donut maker (https://amzn.to/3jZCrW6 I have an older version of this model) If using an oven you will need a donut pan ( https://amzn.to/2BJ9vAw) mixing bowl whisk measuring cups and spoons ingredients: flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, vanilla extract, large egg, sour cream, powdered sugar, milk (mini chocolate chips, cocoa powder, blueberries, instant coffee are optional flavor ideas) I suggest the chocolate for the chocolate lovers =)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be in the kitchen baking, parents may want to be present to assist with oven or donut maker use.
