Do you want to draw realistic people? Or maybe cartoons or anime? Wondering what is "missing" from your drawings? This beginners' basic series will introduce young artists to art techniques that will transform the way they approach drawing people. This class focuses on using basic fractions (1/2, 1/4) to draw the human face in proportion. We will break down these measurements, step-by-step, to complete a realistic human face. We will discuss these as guidelines that can be adapted for gender, ethnicity, etc. I believe all people can feel successful with drawing. It's more confidence than skill! I like to model the techniques and then allow students to find their comfort level. Students are invited to share their drawings for specific feedback, but not required. No prior drawing knowledge needed. Just a desire to try! This class ties in nicely with other in the "Let's Figure It Out" series which isolates specific figure drawing skills. They can be done in any order.
Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to drawing the human face using simple fractions for proportion.
