Let’s explore...the beach! We will begin the class by talking about what we think of when we hear the word “beach”. Students will be encouraged to use their imagination to pretend they are at a beach. We will use our 5 senses to talk about the sand and the ocean at the beach. What would you see, feel, taste, smell and hear? Next we will learn about the beach. Students will learn interesting facts about the sand and the ocean. Then we will talk about some common and uncommon sea creatures. We will have a discussion about our favorite sea animals and we will each create our own sea creature using our imagination. Students will be provided with a printable underwater scene that they can bring to class to draw their sea creature. If you do not have access to a printer, you can use just a plain sheet of paper. Please bring a pencil or something to draw with to class. Students will be encouraged to participate in class by voicing their opinions and answering questions. There will be a slide presentation to support visual learners. I am excited to explore the beach with the students!

We will review the different senses. Students will learn some fun facts about the ocean and sand. They will also learn about cool sea creatures.

Teacher expertise and credentials
“Once you stop learning, you start dying.” -Albert Einstein
When we are little, we think that the world is full of mystery and wonder. One day you want to be a magical fairy princess and the next you want to be an astronaut. The possibilities feel endless! I think it is so important to encourage children to explore their interests, follow their heart, and use their voice.
My name is Caroline and I have a variety of interests from princesses to robotics and everything in between! My teaching style includes encouragement, collaboration, and creativity.
I currently work as an online ESL teacher. I also assist in teaching STEM classes. I love teaching online! I enjoy making connections with students and their families. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I completed trainings on topics of leadership, communication, advocacy, and conflict resolution. I also have a TESOL certification.
I have 7 years of experience working with people on the autism spectrum. I performed various roles in their lives including care-taker, advocate, teacher, and mentor. I enjoyed working in the human services field. In fact, that is where I met my husband. I believe that the way someone treats the most vulnerable people speaks volumes to their true character.
My husband and I packed up what we could fit on our hatchback car and we moved all the way down the East Coast 2 years ago! When I am not teaching or learning new things, I enjoy spending time at the beach and playing with my dog, Phoebe.
I would be honored to have the opportunity to teach your child! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to request a class time or topic.
